Penpointers

I have a number of links and comments related to my fellow penpointers throughout this website, however it occurred to me one day that, as with so many sights, my references often amount to 'this is Jim, his makeup was done by . . .' and it might well feel to the reader as though they are eavesdropping on a conversation not meant for them, the way I often feel on other people's websites. So this section is meant to remedy that, introducing you to my fellow writers. I do not intend on going back too far in the annuls of penpointer history, as this is not meant to honor everyone who has ever been a member of our ranks, just the people I know and mention

Current Members

AARON SPRIGGS

Current President of Penpointers
An entomologist working at the Denver Museum, Aaron has a wide range of scientific knowledge, and is often the go-to guy for scientific questions by our writers. A free spirit and regular visitor to 'Burning Man,' Aaron is a talented musician, his instruments of choice being the Theramin, and the Trumpet. He is also an excellent makeup artist, specializing in zombie makeup, a skill which he uses in the annual 'March of the Zombies' in Denver, to excellent effect.
With regards to his writing, Aaron has an amazing ability to combine story styles and elements that are not usually seen together in such a way that they flow perfectly. His writing is focused in steampunk, poetry, and stories centered around insects.

BRIAN KAUFMAN

Besides being an amazing author and editor, Brian is the penpointers' go-to guru for subjects such as placing stories, promoting our works, and figuring out the next step on our path to becoming authors. Between writing, cooking and his family, Brian keeps as busy as any two people.
For those of you looking for a good read, Brian currently has three novels out, all of which are well worth checking out. My personal favorite, Dead Beyond the fence, is a post zompocalyptic horror that I find pleasantly chilling. For those history buffs out there, Brian has another offering, The Breach, a fictional, but very well researched, account of the battle of the Alamo. Finally, a well written and highly ambiguous story about not-quite the end of the world, The Apocalypse Parable.

JEFF BIBBEY

A highschool teacher and wrestling coach, Jeff has worked a variety of careers in his life, and has traveled extensively within the United States. His interests include the sciences, writing (of course), and music. His intstrument of choice is the guitar.
Jeff recently became a published author of a poignant and powerful story, Off the Mat, a story of highschool, wrestling, and the dangers of methamphetamines.

JIM NORRIS

Our Oldest current member, Jim has lived a long and fascinating life. He's worked in mines and fire departments, he's been an entrepreneur and worked for bureaucracies. Currently working for himself, he tests backflow devices and, when he has the time, writes.
Jim's writing styles currently include grindhouse, and historical fiction, though in my opinion his strongest works are often true, or based on true stories.

KEN HARMON

A retired police officer, Ken currently works out of his home office, where he spends much of his spare time taking care of his daughters.
Ken's writing tends towards fantasy, and well researched historical fiction, which he often combines to great effect. Though most of his work is fictional, he recently published a nonfiction book, Ghost Under Foot about the real life experiences he and his family had with what they believe to be the haunting of their former home.

RYAN JOHNSON

A screenwriter who focuses on comedies (family and action), Ryan has a background in copywriting, marketing, content editing and related work.
Ryan is also a founder and screenwriting coach at Master the Craft

RON

Ron manages a group of contract writers for an electric utility. He uses creative writing to hone his skills with both fiction and business writing. Ron is working on his first novel, a distopian adventure story, set in Colorado Springs.

ROSS WILLARD

Currently Vice President of Penpointers
Me! I work at Target, backstocking merchandise. My pastimes include eating, sleeping, writing and watching television. For those of you who don't think that eating and sleeping are pastimes: You're right, most of the time, but the way I do them? Oh yeah, they're hobbies.
My writing is generally fantasy or science fiction.

JASON

Former President
Currently an Optitrician, Jason is an ex-marine, and an experienced bartender. He ruthlessly and heartlessly abandoned the group a while back because, apparently, we just weren't cool enough for him to stay.
His writing styles include science fiction, comedic, and downright perverted. A skilled writer and editor, he has published several short stories, and is in the process of writing what may well be the most inappropriate book of all time. Seriously, NC-17 rating, don't let anyone under thirty read it, and don't let your female relatives meet him. I certainly wouldn't.
